Why Pawfood Critics exists.

My name is Bryant. I have four dogs at home — a German Shepherd named Loki, and three Malteses named Snowy, Icy, and Flurry. Between the four of them, I have a full panel of opinions, preferences, and stomach sensitivities to work with.

Loki was the one who started all of this. She has a sensitive stomach that made buying dog treats feel like gambling.

I'd walk into the pet store, pick something that looked healthy, bring it home, and watch her either refuse to touch it or — worse — eat it and spend the next two days sick. Diarrhea. Lethargy. That look she gives me like I've personally wronged her.

I tried everything on the shelf. And what I found was that almost everything on that shelf is packed with preservatives, artificial flavors, fillers, and ingredients that have no business being in a dog's body. Chicken by-products. Corn syrup. “Natural flavoring” — which can mean almost anything. Even the treats that marketed themselves as healthy were blends of multiple proteins and mystery ingredients with no way to know what was causing a reaction.

I was frustrated. I was wasting money. And she was miserable.

But there was something else that bothered me just as much.

Think about what it's like to eat the same thing every single day. That's the reality for most dogs — the same kibble, every morning, every night, for their entire lives. No variety. No discovery. No excitement. When owners do try something new, they have to commit to a full bag and hope for the best. Most of those bags end up half eaten in the cabinet, rejected.

Dogs deserve better than that. They deserve variety. They deserve to discover what they actually love. They deserve the experience of tasting something new — something their body can handle, something made from real, clean ingredients they can actually digest and enjoy.

That's why we built Pawfood Critics.

We started with a simple idea — let dogs safely try new treats in small portions, without the commitment of a full bag, without the mystery of a 12-ingredient label. Every box contains a curated selection of natural treat samples, each a different protein, each chosen for sensitive stomachs, each a complete surprise. Your dog tastes, reacts, and tells you — in their own way — exactly what they love.

And we're just getting started.

This is the foundation of something bigger. Our vision goes beyond the tasting box. We are building toward a full natural wellness experience for dogs — starting with healthy probiotics to support gut health and digestion, and natural seasoning toppers to make every meal more exciting and nutritious. Because dogs shouldn't just survive on the same food every day. They should thrive on it.

Every product we add will be held to the same standard as every treat in our box — minimal ingredients, clean sourcing, and the honest opinions of one very particular German Shepherd and three very opinionated Malteses.
